Match the address to the water account
Highlands Ranch Water identifies Highlands Ranch and Solstice within its district. The postal names on 80126, 80129 and 80130 are useful for finding an address, but a ZIP does not confirm an appointment or the work available there. Give the actual street address when you call.
Check the utility name on the account before reporting a suspected public-main or meter fault. Highlands Ranch Water distinguishes those assets from the customer service pipe between the curb stop and the building.

Start with the evidence you already have
A bill increase with dry rooms is a water-use question first. Active ceiling staining is an indoor source question. A persistently wet yard raises a separate question about irrigation, a private supply line or water arriving from elsewhere. Those observations help decide which investigation to request.
- Indoor use you cannot explain: note toilet refill sounds and equipment that uses water automatically.
- Floor-level dampness: describe the exact room, floor covering and whether it changes after rain or fixture use.
- Outdoor water: say whether sprinklers were operating and whether neighboring properties also seem affected.
Use a utility assessment for its intended purpose
The district offers a high-use assessment by phone. Its own guidance says this preliminary help is not a replacement for an in-depth inspection when a leak cannot readily be seen. Save any observations or case reference so the next person does not have to reconstruct the history.
Do not enter a flooded equipment room to obtain a meter reading. Existing account records, photographs from a dry location and a description of the problem are enough to begin the conversation.
Agree on the job before access is arranged
Call us with the building type and whether the affected pipe or irrigation system is private or shared. Ask about address acceptance, inspection charges and access needs. A leak-location visit, plumbing repair and the drying or rebuilding of a wet room are separate scopes to settle before work starts.
