Confirm the parcel, not just the postal name
80127 includes more than one jurisdiction. Littleton’s ZIP table identifies TrailMark as a city-limits exception, while Ken-Caryl Ranch Water & Sanitation lists its own address in 80127. Neither fact assigns every property in the ZIP to one district or building office.
Use the actual address to check the city boundary. Keep your water bill nearby so a suspected supply fault can be directed to the correct operator. Call us to confirm whether the specific address and requested investigation can be accepted.

Keep ownership and maintenance separate
Ken-Caryl district says customers own their water service pipes from the district main. It also distinguishes customer ownership of the water meter from district maintenance of that meter. A visible problem near a meter therefore deserves a utility conversation before someone dismantles it.
The district asks customers to keep the outside stop box accessible. Point out its location if known, but leave operating the buried valve to the appropriate person.
Describe the part of the property affected
A stain behind a sink, moisture on a basement floor and water along a buried supply route are different investigations. A winter-related history is useful, but it does not prove freeze damage. Explain what changed and what you can see now.
- For concealed plumbing, note the room above or beside the wet patch and any recent fixture use.
- For floor moisture, describe rainfall or snowmelt timing as well as water-use changes.
- For irrigation, retain the controller schedule and distinguish a private yard from shared landscaping.
Plan access before repair
Mention finished ceilings, locked utility rooms, renters or association approval. A diagnosis may need access that a later repair expands. For unincorporated parcels, Jefferson County has its own permit process; a mailing address that says Littleton does not settle that question. Agree on access, required approvals and finish repair before authorizing invasive work.
